Who's at risk?- Serenity A.There are about 53 genes that were found in more than one study but scientists narrowed it down to 20. These 20 genes all have their own biological process. Th2 inflammation, T-reg cell function, the HLA immunity, and the lgE response of B cell are a few of the genes that are associated with asthma. As expected, the information gained from these genes are very difficult to understand. The understanding of the molecular mechanism of how those genes can have effect on whether or not a person can have asthma.
